Hair Carnival: Copy Cat Style....

So you like twist... flat, two strand, three strand...but how about rolling twist? Well this month for the Hair Carnival we were paired up with another blogger to copy one of their styles. I was lucky enough to get Untrained Hair Mom who does wonderful styles on her daughter, D (gotta love that she has a D too). Des and I really couldn't decide on just one style so we did a couple.

The first style incorporated Rolling Twists which look very nice and give the appearance that a lot of time was invested. I think the reason it did not take Des and I a long time to do this style had to do with the fact that we were doing it at the end of a week before we co-washed her hair again. I think the thing that probably took me the longest is making sure the parts matched and the angle at which they were made were as close to being like the opposite side. I know the next time we do this style we will be doing it immediately after washing /detangling and we will use holding product of some sort. I feel like it came out well all things considered.

The second style was how we salvaged her hair after the rubber band broke on her Stretching Veil style. I just removed all the rubber bands except the ones in the front and put her head band in. Once I had the head band in I crossed the sections of hair and re-secured them again in a different pattern over the head band. I gathered the remainder of her hair in a ouch less ponytail and braided it. Once it was braided, I put it in a braided bun. We were going to be out and it was too hot for her to have her hair out.

I really enjoyed this Hair Carnival and I hope that you enjoyed seeing my interpretation of  Untrained Hair Mom's styles. She has great information and holds fantastic giveaways on her Blog so be sure to check her out, you will be glad you did.

Until the next time...Stay Blessed.

  7. Goldilocks*n*Me, I actually did one of your styles a while back. I am going to have to do a post on it. I will definitely tag it back to you. I am going to have to get some more styles from your page.

Untrained Hair Mom hearing those words coming from you make me like I did your 'do justice. Glad you thought the parts were good, it is hard sometimes cause the right side of her hair has a wonderful cowlick right in the front.

  9. Love both of these styles. I haven't tried a veil style (yet!) and I love the look of those rolling twists - you did a great job with Untrained Hair Mom's style!! And, as an aside, Des's hair looks amazing in your header picture - is that the one with the Queen Helene creme? Love the curl definition!!

  11. Thank you Mama M, you should try a veil style. They tend to grow on you. It always you to make lots of interesting designs too. As for rolling twist we like them too but they look much better with some kind of holding product in her hair while doing them. Yes, the header is the pic of Des with QH in her hair. It definitely does a great job at defining curls.
